William is the husband of Helen, the father of Nana Heffley, Great Aunt Dorothy and Charlie Heffley, Greg and his siblings' great-grandfather. He only appears in the family tree in Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Do-It-Yourself Book. It is unknown if he is still alive, but he is probably not. He is Frank Heffley's maternal grandfather.
