Hello, You're Dead was the title of one of the horror movies owned by Rodrick. The movie's plot involves a disembodied Muddy Hand going around the globe killing people. At the end of the film, the hand goes straight towards the screen, making it look like if the viewer is the next victim. Even though Greg was unfazed by most of the movie, he and Rowley both eventually succumbed to the terror of them being probable victims of the Muddy Hand, and took drastic measures to avoid the impossible scenario as much as possible. This only leads to Greg's parents finding out about their horror movie night, disappointing them. Susan created the Reading Is Fun club as a direct result of Greg watching this movie.
