In the book, when Greg signed up for it, he kept losing to Fregley so he tried to bulk up but he was unable to do so. In the movie he was able to bulk up, but then got teamed up with Patrica J. 'Patty' Farrell who grabbed and pinned Greg down while he was talking to the coach. Angie took a picture of Patty while she was pinning Greg down and put it in the newspaper as the headline 'A Great Day For Women'. Greg is humiliated as everyone laughs at him (except Rowley). Angie walks over to Greg and says "Well look who's in the paper", Rowley on the other hand yells "Greg, your famous!"
