The Daily Herald is Greg's local newspaper. Susan also writes articles for the parenting section. The name likely came from the Salt Lake City newspaper, The Daily Herald, which may lead people to believe that's where the series takes place. However, the series takes place in Plainview as confirmed in the movie versions of the books.
