The Mingo Kids' Woods first appears in Hard Luck, where Greg talks about it in his journal, and eventually approaches the woods, where one of the Mingo kids comes in and tells Greg to stay away. It makes its first visual appearance in The Meltdown, where it is shown to have several bits of junk, including some defunct and broken vehicles, presumably what the Mingos use for shelter. There's also a stump where Meckley's belt buckle is held.

The woods first appears in ''Hard Luck'', where one of the Mingo Kids warns Greg not to enter them. In ''The Meltdown'', the woods are shown to contain many abandoned vehicles, with [[Meckley Mingo]]'s belt buckle being located on a tree stump. A creek is also located near the woods.
