Interface administrator is an advanced group of users who can edit sitewide CSS, JavaScript, and JSON pages, interface messages interpreted as raw HTML, or the gadget pages listed on Special:Gadgets, and other users' personal CSS/JS pages. JS and CSS and can edit pages that are within the MediaWiki namespace. They are the only local user group with the ability to edit all JS/CSS pages. These pages are executed by the browser of wiki editors and readers as code, used to change how content is styled, change the behavior of pages, or even create complex tools to help with editing, such as HotCat.
