This character was confirmed to be coming to the book, when Jeff Kinney posted a picture of the character spread, in the beginning of all books in the series, from The Getaway, on his Twitter account. In this post, he asked people to guess who the new character is,[1] and later posted that most people guessed correctly.[2] As most guesses were that she will be Rodrick's girlfriend or crush, it is likely this is who this unnamed character is.
