Patty Farrell is a major character in the series. She is characterized as the teacher's pet, a nerd, and due to events happening in the first book, mean to Greg Heffley. She is selfish, and wanted to be Dorothy in the "Wizard of Oz" play at Westmore. She has a minor role in the books, but she played a larger role in the film.

Story

Diary of a Wimpy Kid

Patty appeared firstly in Diary of a Wimpy Kid, when she mentioned to Mr. Ira that he should cover up the United States billboard so nobody could cheat, and because of that, Greg flunked the test.

She later appears in September at "The Wizard of Oz" play. She plays the role as Dorothy and she takes it seriously. Greg later throws an apple at her and the other trees get in the act, until, Patty's glasses got knocked off and were smashed. After that, the play was closed and she didn't appear for the rest of the book.

The Last Straw

Patty appears again, in The Last Straw, as she watches the class, and nobody wants to step out of her line. She is mentioned one last time, by Greg, as she was sick and didn't attend school.
