Mrs. Melcher is Gramma's friend in Bingo. In Cabin Fever pages 70 and 71, Greg goes to Mrs. Melcher to shovel her driveway for 5$. But she never gets visitors and invited Greg inside. Greg didn't want to bre rude, so he sat in Mrs. Melcher's living room couch. But all Greg could think of is how much money he would be making if he knocked on someone else's door.
