Mingo Kids

The Mingo Kids are minor antagonists that apear in Hard Luck and The Meltdown . They're a group of kids (presumably brothers or something) who appear to be quite feral, with their leader being a kid named Meckley Mingo, who chases people with his belt (which has a big buckle on it). They often chase people who happen to walk by their woods (usually just kids who happen to be walking home from school).

It's unknown who the kids' parents are (or if they are even any adults in the family), and Greg explains that he's never seen any of the Mingo-kids (Meckley included) enrolled in school (at least not enrolled at his school) at any point, and as far as he or anyone else knows, the Mingo-kids just live in the woods like wild animals.

Greg mentions in The Meltdown that (almost) no one sees the Mingo-kids during the winter, and he figures that they must hibernate or something, because once winter rolls around, people usually don't see any of the kids until the spring (once all the snow has melted), and when the Mingo-kids do come out by the time spring comes, they look like they've just woken up from a very long nap.
