Leland is Rowley's next-door neighboor. In the second book, he baby-sits Rowley while his parents were gone. Leland is obsessed with Magick and Monsters.
He enters the talent show as a ventriloquist, but everybody thought he stunk.He ended winning,with an act of ventriloquist and judges said it was "wholesome".
