He was the one sniffing out whoever farted out during the band practice because he has a weird talent for that sort of thing. He later also harassed [[Greg Heffley|Greg]] after he left [[Mariana Mendoza]]'s party. In [[Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Meltdown|The Meltdown]], he and [[Speed Bump]] steal cherry lozenges from Greg's locker. Later, when the kids walk through a puddle of water and have their socks taken away, Jake smells out whose socks are whose.
