The Giving Tree guy is a person that appears in Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Cabin Fever.

Role in Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Online book
In this book and online version, Susan and Greg bought him a wool sweater. But when they were wrapping gifts, Greg's gift got mixed up with his and Greg got the sweater instead and the man got Twisted Wizard, the game Greg wanted.
Role in Cabin Fever
In Cabin Fever, it is seen that he can get Thanksgiving food, too. Greg's family have less food because Greg gave almost all of the canned food to him.
