Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Ugly Truth is the final installment of the Wimpy Kid series. The cover of the book is purple. It will be released on November 9th, 2010. On May 20th, 2010, Amulet Books announced that Diary of a Wimpy Kid 5 will be released on November 9th, 2010 and the official color is purple. The cover and the name of the book was announced in July 2010. The caption is "This Fall... Everything Changes".

Although not much is currently known about the plot as of now, it has been confirmed that the book will about Greg and Rowley's friendship. This will be marked as the second time talking about Greg and Rowley's friendship.
