Template:InfoboxDiary of a Wimpy Kid: Hard Luck will be the eighth book in the Wimpy Kid series,following The Third Wheel. After finishing the 7th book, Jeff Kinney announced that he was working on the eighth book. The second teaser confirmed it will be released in November 2013, and the third confirmed it will be released on the 5th of that month. On 8th August, 2013, the cover's color, title and a synopsis was revealed.

Synopsis

Greg Heffley's on a losing streak. His best friend, Rowley Jefferson, has abandoned him, and finding new friends in middle school is proving to be a tough task for him. To change his fortunes, Greg decides to take a leap of faith and turn his decisions over to chance.

Trivia

  • This book was first announced in the final pages of 2012's The Third Wheel.
  • On 25 March 2013, Jeff Kinney revealed the book's teaser, which had Greg with an umbrella while Magic Eight Balls fall around him.
  • On July 18th 2013, it was announced the cover would be revealed on the 8th of August 2013.
  • Before the title of the book was revealed, there were many rumours about what the book would be called including Life Stress, Flipped Out, and a fake cover called "School Dilemma".
  • There are rumours going that this will be the last book, however this is unconfirmed as Jeff Kinney hasn't said anything about it being the last book.
  • According to the 3rd teaser photo, it will come on the 5th of November 2013.
  • This is the second book with the word DIARY not being yellow, the first was Dog Days.
  • The word "of a Wimpy Kid" is not blue or red like the other books, instead it is orange.
