Patty appeared firstly in Diary of a Wimpy Kid, when she mentioned to Mr. Ira that he should cover up the United States billboard so nobody could cheat, and because of that, Greg flunked the test.
She later appears in September at "The Wizard of Oz" play. She plays the role as Dorothy and she takes it seriously. Greg later throws an apple at her and the other trees get in the act, until, Patty's glasses got knocked off and were smashed. After that, the play was closed and she didn't appear for the rest of the book.
The Last Straw
Patty appears again, in The Last Straw, as she watches the class, and nobody wants to step out of her line. She is mentioned one last time, by Greg, as she was sick and didn't attend school.
Personality
She is characterized as the teacher's pet and a nerd, and due to events happening in the first book, she develops a negative relationship towards Greg Heffley. She is selfish and paranoid, and states that she will even sue people if she doesn't get what she wants. In The Last Straw, when the teacher leaves the room, Patty is left in charge. Greg writes that she is very strict when in control, letting no one out of the classroom, even if a fellow student has to use the bathroom.
Appearance
Patty is illustrated as wearing wide open glasses and pig-tails and this has been seen throughout the series. No other illustration of Patty has been shown other than glasses and her style of hair. According to Greg, she can't see one foot in front of her without her glasses and is practically blind without them, although in the movie, she doesn't wear them.
Relationships
Greg Heffley
Greg and Patty overall have a vt and defaces Patty by throwing an apple at her head during the Wizard of Oz play during the first book. Since then, Patty has developed a negative relationship towards Greg, seeing him as a hateful child who will stop at nothing to get what he wants. This is evident in The Last Straw, where Patty, despite Greg's desperate pleading, does not allow him to use the bathroom.
