After Greg started getting his haircuts done at Bombshells Beauty Salon (where Greg's mother and maternal grandmother get their haircuts), he was being told a story about Mr. Peppers, who, according to the woman who was cutting Greg's hair at the time, had recently married a woman who's at least twenty years younger than him. Greg later wanted his hair to grow back quickly so he could go back and hear the rest of the story.
