Template:Character infoboxDirector of Fun is a male character who is the party leader at Isla de Corales. Greg Heffley stated that his purpose was to "Get people moving."
Appearance
The Director of Fun is seen as a skinny person who's constantly wearing a flower t-shirt, striped shorts, and sandals. He sports glasses and has dark curly hair and beard, and sometimes appears shaking a pair of maracas.
Involvement
The Director of Fun first appears when Greg was trying to take a nap near the beach. He plays a large boombox, which annoys Greg. He then tries to ignore him, while the people around him started to join the Director in the fun. Unfortunately, the Director of Fun pulled in Greg to join in as well, and Greg submitted, though he said that he wasn't comfortable with, "all the touching."
Then, the Director of Fun disbands his conga line, and pulls out a bucket of coins. He dumps them all into the swimming pool, and lines up all the children, including Greg, along its perimeter. The Director of Fun then blows his whistle, and all of the kids go into a "free-for-all," where they try to get as many coins as possible. Eventually, Greg ended up with three dollars.
He appeared again much later in the book when Greg’s family was resting, and they were trying to rest again, but the Director of Fun decides to bother them. He and his conga line circle around the family, unconsciously making Greg angry. But he then halted the conga line when he spotted something in Manny's bucket, and screamed when he realized that it was a "Box Jellyfish" He immediately reported it to the nearest lifeguard, and soon the beach was evacuated. The pool was drained, making everyone infuriated at the Heffleys.
