The Big Wheel is a gift Rowley gives Greg for Christmas. It is a tricycle with a low seat and a giant front wheel. Greg is initially disappointed because he was hoping for something better from Rowley's family, given that they are richer than Greg's and that he is too old for it. He changes his mind about it in January when he makes up a game to knock Rowley off the bike with a football. One day Greg misses and accidentally hits the front wheel of the Big Wheel, causing Rowley to fall and break his hand. The Big Wheel is not seen or used again and is retired.
